Re: Working Hours for Tech/Network Support

The expectation is, as several already said, that there is someone here =
to offer support when things are not working.

We are a K-8 school with about 360 students and 65 staff. My goal is to =
have a 10 minute or less response time for teachers 8:00 - 3:00. I have =
30 minutes for admin and staff. My tech is the help desk person and is =
usually able to meet these goals.

Since my tech is hourly, I try not to have him work overtime, as I have =
no money in the budget for this. That means I come in early (by 7:30) =
and stay late (usually about 6 each day).=20

Since only half of my position is the "stuff" I also usually spend 2-3 =
hours each night with the curriculum stuff teachers have asked for =
(finding websites, creating wiki pages, creating a teaching unit, etc.)

I also have a half time Ed Tech to support middle school teachers. She =
is on a teaching contract, so does not work 12 months (like my tech and =
I). She is on salary, but it is easy to abuse a half time worker, so I =
really ask her to monitor her hours and give me any work she doesn't =
have time to do. (That rarely happens as she wants to do most herself.)
