Re: Server room temperature

We also keep our server room at 68 degrees. Even then the temperature
in and behind the rack is in the 70's. Our room also has its own
temperature control center and has been specially insulated to maintain
this temperature pretty consistently throughout the year. Before we did
this we had overheating problems, as we have a closed server rack due to
shared space. We left our old air system in place as backup in the event
that the in room unit fails. Our USP alerts us to temperature changes
and the air system alerts the facilities manager, as we have learned
that the temperature in our server room can jump to 100 degrees in a
matter of 20 minutes without air.

Subject: Server room temperature

I've been requested to find out information about the temperature in
server rooms and the temp in the racks themselves. I'm hoping to get a
quick poll.=20

1) What temperature do you set in your server room?

2) At what temperature do you get concerned about being too hot?

3) What temperature would you like to have in your racks?

4) At what temperature do you get concerned about being too hot?

Thank you,
