directory in our user portals (password protected) for the 1st time this
year. Issues we have experienced: Updating and honoring requests to
hide directory contact information. In role and web based systems this
can be quite laborious depending on the system you choose, size of your
community and whether you are maintaining the updates or entrusting your
community with the responsibility.
At present our administrative assistants maintain the updates for all of
the parents, while the faculty and staff can maintain their own. One
issue with the Whipplehill system is that it takes 4 - 5 navigational
clicks to access the hide personal contact information screen and 3 - 4
navigational clicks to edit a directory field.
Finally, we are still printing a directory. Why? At present our
directory is not downloadable to mobile devices and many of our parents
like to carry one around in their car.

Subject: School directories
Every September the school provides our families with a School Directory
(in
a book format) that contains names, addresses, phone, email, etc.
We are beginning to get requests that this information be provided in
digital format that families can upload to their iPhones, Blackberries,
etc.
Just wondering how many of you are going the digital route? Are you
providing both paper and digital?
