Academic Technology Coordinator=20

The Holton-Arms School invites applications for the position of
full-time Academic Technology Coordinator for the 2008-2009 school year.
Founded in 1901, Holton-Arms is an independent college preparatory girls
school with 665 students in grades 3 through 12, located on a 57-acre
campus in Bethesda, MD, a suburb of Washington. The School is known for
its commitment to academic excellence, and for its leadership in
providing opportunities for young women in athletics and the fine and
performing arts. Holton-Arms is a "laptop" school where each student in
grades 7-12 and all faculty members have their own laptop. We are a
diverse community of students, faculty, and staff reflecting the
population of the metropolitan Washington, DC area.=20

The Academic Technology Coordinator will have responsibilities for
further integrating technology into the curriculum at Holton-Arms.
He/she will report to the Director of Technology and work closely with
the school's librarians, information resources specialists, department
chairs, and the division directors.=20

The successful candidate will have direct experience and proven
leadership in academic technology, including computer applications,
academic software, professional development and training for teachers,
as well as knowledge of peripheral hardware and software. Candidates
must have a strong background in the integration of technology and a
Bachelor's degree.=20

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:=20
* Work with faculty and students to ensure that the division-level
technology proficiencies are met; help to re-evaluate division-level
proficiencies, as needed.=20
* Provide leadership in training students and faculty in standard
software applications and specific academic software applications=20
* Work with the Director of Technology to oversee integration of the
technologies
* Work closely with the Director of Technology to explore new
technologies and uses of academic hardware and software=20
* Research and introduce new academic hardware and software products=20
* Oversee the School's week-long summer technology training program for
faculty members=20
* Coordinate on-campus professional development in technology for the
faculty 12 and advocate for off campus professional development
opportunities=20
* Help manage the School's Blackboard site and assist in training with
the School's new website=20
* Assist with parent training and public relations related to the
School's use of Academic Technology as needed.=20
