Re: Online test calendar options

Hi Jennifer -

I suggest you take a look at Rjenda (http://www.rjenda.com/).

We started using Rjenda this year to manage our test calendars.

Rjenda is unique in that it provides a great deal of insight into the data
of the test calendars themselves. For example, class deans, advisors, and s=
o
on can check to see how many exams a given student has on any given day or
week. We integrate Rjenda's iCal feeds to provide each student with a test
calendar embedded in their Google calendar. (We're a Google apps school. We
used to use FirstClass).

You can provide access to parents if you want to. At Castilleja, we don't d=
o
that.

Full Disclosure: Castilleja participated in the design of Rjenda, and one o=
f
the employees of Rjenda is the spouse of a Castilleja faculty member.

Since I don't teach any classes, I can't speak in-depth about the full
feature set. I can put you ion contact with people here at Castilleja that
can provide more information if you are interested.

Subject: Online test calendar options

Hi there -

We've long had a paper test calendar where teachers write up major
assessments, so that no one student has too many on the same day. Since thi=
s
is a 'write on the big wall calendar' approach, we can currently see what
order people put test items on in. We don't need to break down to class
period, just by the day.

We'd like to do something similar electronically. Our dream options would
be:
- ability to color code for multiple grade levels (9th-12th, so four
options)
- detail readable without several clicks
- some sort of time stamp or sorting (i.e. it's clear which test was
entered first, which was entered last.)
- easy to sync across multiple teachers automatically (i.e. they don't
need to manually update)
- tiered access: separate page for viewing (parents) than for entering
(teachers, admins, etc.)
