disabilities is pretty dismal (around 12-16%). I personally witnessed this
high failure rate when I was a Learning Specialist at a college from 1993 -
2006. In the meantime, my own son with LD and ADD began college in 1999 and
graduated successfully with a 3.2 GPA. He was no different than many of the
students where I worked, yet he succeeded.
This really made me think -- what did he do differently? I began to make a
list, and it suddenly dawned on me -- I had pretty much codified the
prerequisites for college success among the LD cohort.
I am frequently asked to speak in the Philadelphia/Metro DC area, and I want
to share two presentations that I often use in my talks. If you feel
they're helpful, I'd appreciate if you'd post them to social media sites
like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. Thanks so much!
