and
looking for insights from other independent schools.
Hyde currently has two campuses and does not have a system in place that
allows its two boarding campuses to share certain modules and data. Hyde is
also investigating the skill set necessary for an IT specialist to help wit=
h
the strategic planning and implementation of an IT system that would not
only solve its current technology challenges but also advance it. Currently=
,
there are 2 IT directors, whose responsibilities and skill sets are focused
only on the day-to-day tech issues of students and staff. Hyde recognizes
the need to improve upon this =91Band-aid=92 approach to technology, but is=
also
challenged by its need to serve two schools and staff for multiple growing
programs.
I hope to hear ideas and suggestions about how Hyde could move its IT
planning forward from schools that:
1. Have a sound, well-functioning IT system in place. I want to learn
what systems you have in place that create this seamless environment.
2. Have an IT Director that has a solid vision and is innovative---What
does that look like? Also, what credentials and experience does this person
have?
3. Have multiple campuses and one network.
4. Can speak to the search process you went through to find your
qualified IT Director.
Thank you in advance for your insights. My goal is to be able to speak with
a few of you to identify next steps.
Best,
Mark
