Check out the Eno by Polyvision. I just installed three and will be instal=
ling more. No electronics in the board because it uses a Bluetooth stylus.=
The board can take a sharpie and then wipe clean...the demo included hold=
ing a lighter to it. I tried the Hitachi Starboard and it did not go well =
because you cannot put up a huge projection surface on the teaching wall an=
d not let teachers write on it. You need to allow teachers to transition t=
o digital ink...not jump out of an airplane to a desert with an oasis somew=
here to find. If they don't find the oasis, they end up face down in the s=
and.
The simplicity of the Eno, open software architecture, ability to hang it a=
nywhere and use small slates, as well as hang it magnetically on an existin=
g whiteboard makes it a great tool. The stylus gives very good granularity=
on the board when writing.
Cheers,
m

We have a couple installed here on campus as a cheaper alternative to smart=
board as well. The flexibility it provides in terms of its portability is a=
great feature. It can be shared and/or removed from the board. I ditto the=
plus side of having access to the whiteboard as just that when the mimio i=
s not in use. That is a huge drawback to the smartboard .
