for years for our school information system needs and have been
EXTREMELY happy with them. The school solutions are build all on
FileMaker which make them extremely easy to use, modify and adapt to
the individual needs of independent schools. When we look at other
options out there, Blackbaud, PowerSchool, Senior Systems while we
found them to be good systems thy only were able to get us part of the
way there. Having a system built on something as easy and as powerful
to use as FileMaker made the decision easy. Not to mention the fact
that they are cross-platform solutions. You can choose whether to run
them on a Mac of PC.
Recently they took and extremely complicated and detail change to our
Middle School schedule and built out a solution that no other system
out there could have done for us. It is this fact that makes many of
the other options out there not an option at all.
The other piece to this all is the level of support you will receive
as well and the ability of the people you are going to be working with
to listen to and understand your needs. This is something the The
Proof Group does extremely well. With some of the other pieces out
there you need to wait for the next version release to see changes you
might need or have to wait and try to "make" the system do what you
want. Working with Proof, the system just do what we want. And while
there are other open systems out there it is really about the support
and the attention to your needs that I think make what Proof offers
extremely compelling.
