Re: Teaching non-traditional languages

Indian Creek School began offering ASL as a foreign language this year. =
It is taught by a deaf instructor, and has been well received. =
Previously, ASL was offered as an after school activity option, by a =
hearing instructor, and a number of the students who enjoyed that =
offering signed up for the full course this year.

Amherst Regional High School (MA) has (or had in the 80's/90's) an ASL
course. It was great they used the Vista program (same one used a
Gallaudet University). The course was very well received, but was not =
part
of the FL department there.
