Ease of Access to Data vs. Ease of Access to Data

Just wondering how other schools out there are handling dishing community
directory data out to their community electronically yet securely.

I am just brainstorming different ways to go for the community. We have an
online directory that has clean and constantly updated information behind a
login. We have an iPhone app that references that info (again behind a
password) so the data is there for the community 24x7 and just not willing
to go so far as to give such easy access for the community that it
jeopardizes the data of the community with a downloadable PDF or something
(even behind a login, etc.)

Any ideas that work for you that seem to give you balance of ease of use vs.
security of your families data would be appreciated.
