Re: Workshop for Elementary & Middle School educational technologists

Dear Elementary and Middle School Colleagues,

For a couple of years now Beth Green, Technology Director at Tenacre Country Day, and I have wished to have technology staff from elementary and middle schools gather together to focus on technology's place and use in our curriculum. We have finally
decided to organize a get together ourselves and hope this group will continue to meet at least twice a year.

PURPOSE:
To learn from each other about successful, and unsuccessful, uses of technology in elementary and middle school education. The focus will be on the use of technology in the curriculum with an eye to student achievement and learning, and technological
teaching tools and methodologies, rather than on the nuts and bolts, infrastructure and hardware of technology itself.

WHEN:
Wednesday, October 20 from 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm.

WHERE:
Brookwood School will host the first meeting. Located in Manchester, Massachusetts, Brookwood is a 10 minute drive off of Route 128. For directions visit:
(The next meeting will be held at Tenacre Country Day; date TBD)

SCHEDULE:
4:30 pm - Meet in the Dodge Writing Center
5:00 - 6:00 pm Session 1
6:00 - 6:45 pm Dinner provided
6:45 - 7:45 pm Session 2
7:45 - 8:30 pm Summary and wrap-up

COST:
$15.00 per person for dinner & beverages; please make checks out to Brookwood School.

So.... If you would like an opportunity to learn about technological successes and failures from your colleagues in elementary and middle school, discuss challenges and possible technological solutions, join us! Please pass this email on to your friends
and colleagues at other elementary and middle schools, public or private!

TO REGISTER:
1. Send an email to Doug Fodeman ([ mailto:dfodeman@brookwood.edu ]dfodeman@brookwood.edu) with the following information:
a) Who will attend?
b) What are the titles/roles of attendees?

2. List your top three topics of interest to discuss or address

3. Please send a check, made out to Brookwood School, for $15/person, to secure your reservation.

We hope to see you there!

Best wishes,
Doug Fodeman and Beth Green (beth_green@tenacrecds.org)
