North Carolina Independent School Diversity Conference and Job Fair Sept 25

While I'm no longer at GDS, I think the following is worthy of sharing on
the list and so am forwarding it:

Greensboro Day School is hosting the first-ever North Carolina Independent
School Diversity Conference & Job
Fair<http://www.greensboroday.org/cf_news/view.cfm?newsid=3D851>on
September 25, 2010. Together with the SBAN Teacher of Color Prep
Institute, independent schools, charter schools and colleges from across th=
e
state will come together with teacher applicants to have a practical,
substantive dialog on how to improve inclusivity in education, specifically
at independent schools and charter schools.

The conference begins at 8:00 a.m. with a showing of the movie =93The Prep
School Negro,=94 followed by a discussion led by its creator Andre Robert L=
ee.
Independent school representatives and teacher applicants will then
participate in breakout sessions including: Hiring, Contributing & Thriving=
:
Why people of color in independent schools support academic excellence,=94
=93How to become an administrator in an independent school,=94 =93How to ap=
ply for
the SBAN Teacher of Color Prep Institute,=94 and =93How to become a TCPI
School.=94

This all leads into the job fair, which will allow both SBAN members and
non-members unprecedented access to job opportunities in independent school=
s
and charter schools.
