users and reference checking with other schools, several things stood out=
:
1. Blackbaud wasn't really set up for hosting but grudgingly offered it.=20
(They have since seen the light.)
2. When asked about reports, Blackbaud's tagline was "and we give you a=20
copy of Crystal reports with every purchase." I wasn't interested in=20
having to keep people trained on Crystal reports.
3. People who were using more than just one Blackbaud module had been=20
Blackbaud schools for years and had just recently worked up to the =20
newer modules. Nobody who was provided as reference had simultaneously=20
implemented all of the modules that we were considering.
Also, Blackbaud was initially more expensive, but the crossover occurred=20
after three years so that didn't enter into our decision. This was a=20
little under two years ago, so YMMV.
