Re School Software

Joshua,

No, at the same cost I would not have chosen BB. Three reasons.

1. When we were researching SIS one of the recommendations I got was, "We
call tech support all the time and they are great!" I don't want a
product that requires tech support at that level.

2. Data ownership. I will say I don't know if this is still true as we
made our choice some time ago, but when we did, it was nearly impossible
to get data out of BB to import into another system. I don't like being
locked into a vendor in that way.

3. We wanted more customizable features. Our solution is form inResonance=
,
which is Filemaker Pro based, and is completely open. We can export any
data, design new functionality/fields/relationships and create reports as
we wish.

inResonance was not cheap, and may have even appeared more expensive in
the initial outlay (don't have the numbers in front of me), but I do
remember looking at support fees and upgrade fees associated with BB, as
well as the need for training and it became clear it was a less expensive
choice than BB and it met our needs more completely.
