Re: Girls avoid "techie stuff"?

I have 6 students (4 girls, 2 boys) in my class. We are working on a carbon footprint image movie. Later in the year we will create a PSA and a commercial. The girls seem to enjoy this class.

I don't agree with the statement girls avoid techie stuff. I think it has to do with how the material is presented, the interaction in class, and the interest in the topic(s). It also helps that they see a female role model in this type of position. Many
of the girls find comfort in this and take more risks.
