academic awards and thus no end of year "awards assembly". We also do
not rank our students and therefore have no valdectorian, salutatorian,
etc. We're a relatively new high school (this is our 6th year of
operation), and this was an issue that we discussed periodically during
our first few years. As a faculty, we've always felt pretty strongly
that end-of-year awards were not consistent with our school's philosophy
and culture.
