Re: Big Problem With OpenOffice

Okay -- here's some oddness --

I uploaded an odt file to http://openacademic.com/quick_brown_fox.odt

The download works with no issues -- the server is a linux box

Attempting to use is.gd to shorten the url gives an error; when I change the url to end in a .doc filename extension (even though there is no file at that url) it generates the alias.

Using tinyurl to generate an alias results in the same error. The odt file is not recognized, where the .doc works with no issues.

So, there are two issues here: first is the server config (not surprisingly, the MS box doesn't work with Oo files). Then, however, it also appears that url shorteners munge the path names to Oo files.
