Help with Programming Courses

Dear Colleagues,
We are planning on offering two one-semester programming courses for our
high school students beginning this fall. The first course is an
introduction to programming, using Alice. The second course is an
introduction to JAVA.

I'm looking for suggestions on textbooks for each course, as well as any
course outlines, problem sets, projects, tests etc. that you're willing to
share from any similar courses that you offer at your school.

Thanks very much for your help,

Bruce
