Re: 1:1 and home support & ps on wiki

Hi Dave,

I also typically get a few phone calls or emails about this at the start of=
the year. Like others, I politely offer what advice I can (via a web page,=
) but then respectfully refer parents to contact whomever set up their home=
network. I do have a page on our site that offers advice on the 3 most com=
mon questions. Seems like these are the same questions we all get, so if th=
ere were some way for us to have a more collaborative approach to developin=
g these FAQ pages, I'd be up for that. A wiki page would be good for this. =
At any rate, here's a link to the questions on our website:

ps: just bought "Disrupting Class" because of the discussion on the ning. T=
hanks Fred!

pps. There is a tab for the wiki on the top of the ning with some categorie=
s as a drop-down. I continue to believe that putting our info/knowledge on =
a wiki page is superior to storing it as Word files in each of our "My Docu=
ments" folders, and encourage others to make this leap. The search box on t=
he wiki makes it possible to find what you're looking for, or create a new =
page on that topic if one does not already exist. I appreciated the collabo=
ration on "Why We Like Diigo" http://schoolcomputing.wikia.com/wiki/Why_We_=
Like_Diigo and want to thank those who contributed. Portfolios would be a g=
ood topic for another page!
