Re: Printing Policies - How does your school do it?

Lisa,

Good morning.

At Miller, we only make color printing available in a centralized =
location, with the exception of one or two users with small inkjets on =
their desks (who need occasional access). Users have to ask for the =
login, which allows us to at least track which users have color priveleges =
and which do not. Our take was to provide access on a case-by-case basis, =
which is labor-intensive, but allows us to match costs with approved =
users, and to take action as necessary.

Good luck with your policy!

I am interested in hearing from you about color printing policies in =
your=20
districts. With costs going up and up and budgets tightening we are=20
considering centralized printing for all color print jobs and seeking=20
approval from supervisors. I think the approval step may be cumbersome =
but=20
I am curious to see if any of you are using a policy of this nature and =
if=20
so, how does it work and how is it working?

Thank you for your input!
