We had a web-based grades and comment system built and hosted off-site as
we are a small school without the deep leveles of tech support the larger
schools have. It is very customizable, can have menus, radio buttons,
comment fields and check lists as many as you need. Teachers log in to
enter comments. Grade Deans can log in and proofread, and the MS Director
has final approval. When all is good, we open the site to parents who
have been sent their passwords.
No paper is involved until year's end. We can download Word files, print
and put them in student's folders, or we could just archive the Word files
and never print ! How green is that ?
Jonathan Cherneff (jonathan_cherneff@hotmail.com) built it and hosts it
for us and we pay a yearly fee which is very reasonable. Contact him and
see if he can do the same for you. I think he has worked for Beaver
Country Day School and Brimmer & May as well.
All best wishes,
Ken Weinstein
