We've replaced our main Lower School lab with ClassmatePC convertible =
netbooks (10.1" Win 7). We're using the same machine in 6th grade 1:1. =
Our 7th & 8th graders have the 8.9" ClassmatePC convertible netbooks (XP =
Tablet) - last year's model.

We've been quite pleased with the Classmates. Definitely more "bang for =
the buck" for middle schoolers - it was a great way afford expanding a =
1:1 program and adding tablet access for younger grades. We didn't go =
with them for our Upper School because we still have a number of classes =
dependent on use of CD and DVD drives, plus we needed a machine that =
would be reliable and usable for 4 years of high school. We were =
concerned that netbooks may not fit the bill.

We're running OneNote, Office 2007, Movie Maker, Audacity, Inspiration, =
and numerous web-based apps.
