arate VLAN partitioned off with our firewall from the rest of the network. =
Basic outbound Internet access is allowed (DNS, web, common mail protocols,=
etc) and all traffic is rate-limited. I'm considering encrypting this netw=
ork with a shared WPA2 key to avoid Firesheep-esque issues. Since we're in =
a residential community and bordered by houses, I'm also considering the pr=
os/cons of a captive portal to require domain authentication before getting=
Internet access.

Subject: Wireless access with student owned devices
Do any of your schools allow students to have open access to campus wireles=

using their own devices? We are contemplating this and want to hear about
how you manage security and liability issues.
