IT Department Performance Indicators/Metrics

We're in the beginning stages of evaluating whether we should institute a
self-imposed process of gauging our impact or effectiveness as a technology
service to the school community. Things like response time, time to
resolution, quality of service...

To all the Tech folks out there, do you use any kind of metrics to measure
your effectiveness as a group? Something that you can look at to help you
determine areas which you can devote more resources or need improvement. If
so, I would love to hear any ideas or feedback on systems you've
implemented.
