GCE Chicago <http://www.gcechicago.com> is a new independent school that
uses digital portfolios. We ran a pilot program last year. We begin a
month of staff pd on Tuesday, and will officially open our doors on Sept 7.
I'm happy to be a guinea pig for our group.
If you visit our website and scroll over "GCE Chicago High
School<http://www.globalcitizenshipexperience.com/index.php/school-year/gce-school-year-learning-institute/>"
you will see a menu bar that includes "student
portfolios<http://www.gceportfolios.com>".
These were beta-portfolios which students worked on ONLY during the final
quarter of the school-year, and they didn't include the audio or video
components that are in place for this year. This fall we will have 10+
student portfolios being developed in concert with our staff portfolios.
Our full barrage of social networking strategies will be intertwined during
the coming month of staff pd and we'll invite you all to participate as
actively or passively as is appropriate for you.
I am open to any questions and would happily host several webinars
throughout the school-year in order to discuss the successes, short-falls,
and refinements.
Many thanks and best of luck,
eric
