Here is a summary of the job description:
The Middle School Director of Academic Technology is responsible for the
development, implementation, and evaluation of the middle school
technology program. These responsibilities include:
Collaborating with teachers to plan the integration of technology into
the middle school curriculum. =20
Assisting teachers with class projects which incorporate technology.
Working extensively with the sixth and seventh grade teachers and
students as we pilot the second year of a one-to-one tablet PC program.=20
Teaching educational technology courses as needed in consultation with
the Middle School principal.
Training faculty and staff in technology competencies needed for
classroom teaching or fulfillment of administrative duties.=20
Purchasing software for faculty to support their curriculum and
teaching.=20
Collaborating with colleagues in the Information Services Department to
further its goals and improve its services.
Keeping abreast of the newest issues in educational technology and
sharing them with teachers and colleagues.
Working for one month in the summer which includes conducting technology
workshops for teachers and staff.
Completing other administrative duties as assigned.
