1) We are planning/hoping to have our next Tech Saturday in Harlem on May
30th. We are currently short mice, keyboards and monitors. If you have
any inventory you are getting rid of in the next few weeks, please let me
know. And please keep us in mind over the summer if your school has
equipment (Macs or PCs) you are getting rid of. The generosity of the
Independent School tech community has been incredible -- perhaps even
essential -- in helping to sustain the Tech Saturdays program. See
http://www.techsaturdays.org for more info.
2) We are trying to make this our first LINUX Tech Saturday and are
seeking educational software to put onto a LINUX image. If you have any
recommendations or know of any good web sites, we would appreciate it. Our
current list is at http://www.cstorefront.org/ts/#linux
3) We have several job openings at The Children's Storefront in Harlem for
next year -- lead teachers grade 1-4, learning specialist, humanities
teacher, assistant math teacher and development associate. Please pass
this link along --http://www.thechildrensstorefront.org/jobs/ -- to anyone
you know who might be interested in a NYC job.
Thanks much! Steve
p.s. the Summercore at Horace Mann is almost full so if you have anyone
from your school, please tell her/him to fill out the application ASAP
