Director of Academic Computing & Computer Science Teacher

St. Mark's School seeks a creative, inspirational teacher, well-versed in
computer science instruction and technology applications for teaching and
learning. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated excellence in
computer science instruction, a vision of what technology knowledge is
essential for secondary school students and faculty, an ability to ignite
technology interest and to communicate amicably among students, teaching
colleagues, administrators and technology support staff. This individual
will develop a computer science curriculum at St. Mark's and guide the
school in integrating technology more fully into our students' educational
experience, demonstrating applications that make a meaningful difference to
teaching and learning. Experience with a breadth of computer applications
and networking solutions is essential. Approximately half of the teaching
responsibilities of will involve students and half will involve work with
faculty. The Director of Academic Computing is a member of the Mathematics
Department but reports to the Assistant Head of School for coordination of
administrative responsibilities.

The Director of Academic Computing will hold an endowed chair, thus ensuring
that outstanding computer science instruction and integration of technology
into teaching and learning will exist permanently at St. Mark's. The chair's
funding includes annual income that the director will allocate for faculty
professional development to support the vision of technology being
integrated into teaching and learning at St. Mark's in an outstanding way.
