I've been testing the Classmate Convertible for about 2 weeks. I
also had prototype tablets from Intel last winter before the
production models were available. As a result of the testing, we're
planning to pilot a class set this week to evaluate potential
implementation for next year in our middle school.

The screen is still small, but it is a tablet. I think the keyboard
is workable, but we're piloting to be sure. The processor has been
able to handle everything I've thrown at it, including Office 2007
and OneNote. I was pleasantly surprised :-)

Considering how many kids use their phones and iPods to browse
online, I think the Classmate is definitely workable. As an English
teacher, I frequently gave kids paperbacks much smaller than the
tablets with no real estate concerns.

I've been posting results of my testing and related resources on my
blog - http://www.tech4teaching.org . I'll continue to post my
results there.
