Re: A couple of questions

We use Panasonic security cameras (40+ PoE). It is not a retail store
product so the price is a higher than consumer cameras. Our IT
department is able to install and manage all the cameras using our Video
Insight server. (Google Panasonic WV-NF284 for more information about
the camera)

I have a few wireless Axis cameras that will be installed in the parking
lots.

Subject: A couple of questions

Hello all-

Happy Friday!! Having said that, I have 2 inquiries for you to ponder.

1. Our school is looking to add a few security cameras in places where
there is not coax cable or power available. We are looking into a power
over Ethernet solution. Any ideas of cameras and POE boxes that would
work well for this, but wont break the bank? (we also have 10 access
points that we wouldn't mind changing to POE, can these plug into the
same box?)

2. We are having power serge issues and are wondering about whole
school serge protection. Is it better to surge protect each outlet
individually, or is there a way to surge protect the line coming into
the school. Also, we are going to be doing new construction of a
computer lab. If not possible to protect the whole building is there a
way to just protect the outlets in the new lab?

Thanks for your help,
Tim
