The adult who picks up the child must give the faculty/staff members who are
handling sign out:
Their name / student name / time / and where they think they are going.
We had a situation years ago with evacuation due to nearby fires and
discovered that nervous parent do not always write clearly - that is why we
have the staff members do the writing. We also found that we had several
families where both parents showed up. It was helpful to be able to tell the
parent who arrived second - not only what time the child was picked up - but
also where they were headed. Can't always rely on cell phones in a major
emergency - sometimes tough to get through
