Re: After school supervision

We are an all girls pre school- grade 12 school. We do things differently =
by division. We set really high behavioral expectations (part of school =
mission), so the kids are good-- mostly!

Up to grade 5: after school program where families are charged for the =
kids to stay. It is basically a "stay and play" situation.
Grades 6-8: Girls can stay for free Mon-Thurs until 6 PM in the library. =
The school pays someone to supervise, taking attendance, keeping it quiet, =
etc.
Grades 9-12: Girls can stay, unsupervised in the resource center. Computer =
keyboards are removed. Coaches must stay with players until all have gone. =
Administrators are often here, but no one is designated/required to be =
present. BUT no students in the building without an adult-- often that =
adult is a receptionist until 6 PM or a maintenance person.

We are a small girls' day school in Atlanta. At the
present time, we have a supervised after school
program for any Middle School student. We charge $10
per day up to 6:00PM and $1 a minute after 6:00PM.
Our question is: do other school provide supervised
afterschool programs of any kind for high school
students?
Are coaches required to stay with the team members
until all are picked up?
Is there a school administrator on campus until all
students are picked up?
