Our middle school does not give out awards, nor do we have honor roll
(or letter grades at all, come to that). We believe it is
developmentally appropriate for the age group.
Middle schoolers are eligible for the "Shining Star" awards we
periodically give to kids who go over and above in one way or another.
Our upper school does have an honor roll and gives academic awards. We
give the middle school kids the option of attending honor roll
ceremonies or not; our end-of-year trip to Six Flags occurs on the day
of the big Upper School Awards Ceremony so we miss that altogether.
