Management (DAM), which covers all digital assets. With paper, copies
were tossed in a drawer, then boxed up, then become discovered treasures
years later. These are where the wonderful pictures of our schools in
the early part of last century come from. With the conversion to digital,
most schools do not have anything equivalent to the file drawer that is
then boxed up. Instead, it's on a hard drive that disappears. I think
that future members of our schools will look back for history and find a
ten or twenty year gap due to the conversion from paper to digital
without an archiving solution in place. (Of course, how many of you have
seen a school history tossed out because "nobody wants what's in those
boxes?")
I hope others here have answers as I have none.
