We're looking into ways to streamline all of our paperwork at school, and
move more and more of it to the web. In discussion with our Director of
Admission this morning, we talked about all of the paper that is generated
through the Admission process, especially when it somes to teacher
recommendations and transcripts from other schools.
We have picked a lot of the low-hanging fruit within our locus of control
regarding the admission process: online inquiries and applications, online
notification, and (next year) online re-enrollment.
Thanks to a cooperative agreement in our region, many of our peer schools
use the same teacher recommendation form.
But it begs the question of why we can't do more regionally and nationally.
Is there a movement afoot to try to standardize forms so that we can, in
fact, make it more convenient for parents, students, and teachers to work
with independent schools in the application process? Sounds like a great
business opportunity for NAIS.
