I'd like to compile some information on how learning specialists,
particularly in middle schools, manage their positions. If you are a
learning specialist, or know how the learning specialist would respond,
please feel free to email me off list at laurie_bartels@ryecountryday.org
Also, does anyone know of a listserv for learning specialists?
My general questions are:
=E2=80=A2 Who organizes your schedule?
=E2=80=A2 How do you meet with students? (1 on 1, in small groups, in lar=
ger
groups, in age/grade groups or mixed groups, etc)
=E2=80=A2 Do you pull students out of classes or study halls to work with=
you,
or do you work with students within their classes?
=E2=80=A2 How are students recommended for working with you?
=E2=80=A2 What role do teachers play in furthering the work you do with s=
tudents?
I am asking these questions on behalf of a colleague, who is trying to ge=
t
a handle on the best way to meet the needs of students. If you have any
additional information or suggestions to share, we are all ears. :-)
Thanks for your consideration,
Laurie
