Subject: Summercore 2009/2010 and an incredible Music Theory Web site

Summercore is a unique and hopefully transformational 5 Day Computer
Workshop for teachers and administrators at all computer stages ... we
have 2 places open for our Florida session which is July 27-31 in St.
Petersburg at Shorecrest Preparatory School and are also now seeking
schools/locations for summer 2010 ... we have finished sessions at
Castilleja School (CA), New Canaan Country School (CT), and Berkeley
Carroll School (NYC) over the past 33 days ... here are quotes from
several people from these 3 schools used with permission of course:
"A brilliant concept in professional development. The time given to =
learn
and work in such a supportive environment was helpful. It also was
empowering and served as a community builder for our school. It was
effective because we had a cross-section of colleagues from all =
divisions.
Because of our physical proximity on campus, we rarely get to know each
other so well. I especially like the reflection time built into the =
week."
"This was one of the most powerful weeks I have ever spent in terms of
learning technology. I think we need to get all of our teachers up and
running on Web 2.0 in order to keep up with the students."
"Summercore is just fantastic! It is so well choreographed that every
moment of the the whole week is being utilized. It is an overwhelming
amount of information and Steve and Lynne use their expertise and humor =
to
enlighten us on the many wonderful application that are available to us
(most of which are free). I found this week to be exciting and it has
inspired me to want more. Thank you!"

p.s. on another note, I have just been given access to an online music
theory Web site called "Theory in a Box" at http://www.theoryinabox.org/
.... without being hyperbolic, I can honestly say it is 1 of the 33 best
educational computer programs that I have ever seen ... please contact =
me
off the listserv and I can tell you more or give you full access with my
login/password which the programmer has said is okay
