chosen to join. Whenever I send a post to this group or respond to
another's post, I am looking for advice from all of you or answering
another's request. Posting discussion list items to a blog doesn't make any
sense to me. Blogs are used (IMO) to express the writer's opinions or for
reporting events and other matters. Discussion lists are for discussion -
research, advice, opinions - back and forth. If a posting is published on a
blog, there is no context around it. Commenters may not get the original
poster's meaning if it is snipped to a blog. That being said, I agree that
whenever I send out an email, I have to assume that it might be publicly
published somewhere else - that's what I tell students. If a blogger fails
to publish an entire thread (and then, when does a thread officially end?),
it does the list a disservice.
