I would be grateful to hear from any of you who do not use
standardized testing as part of your program.
What do you use in lieu of standardized tests?
What is your rationale?
How do you respond to the question about where your students stand in
relation to other students, other schools, standardized criteria
(state standards, e.g.)?
My new school (an innovative coed day school for grades 4 through 8)
does not administer standardized tests of any kind, a position I am
quite comfortable with. The school has a very intelligent and
articulate aplogia which answers the questions I pose, but I would be
very interested in hearing the thoughts of others who also may have
abondened standardized assessments.
Many thanks,
