As some of you know, we have started a program in Harlem to give people
free computers ... numerous Independent School tech coordinators around
the country have contributed old computers, old wireless cards, old mice,
old keyboards and tech time ... in fact, as I have said to my colleagues
at Wireless Harlem Initiative, we could not have succeeded without the
generosity of the Independent School world!
You can learn about Tech Saturdays in Harlem program by going to
http://www.thechildrensstorefront.org/ts/ including reading the article in
the Daily News and the television clips on the NY1 channel
Anyway, the reason that I am sharing this is because NAIS is coming to NYC
in just a week and it is highly likely that you will have several
administrators from your school taking planes to NYC ... what a great
opportunity to ask them to take a few mice or keyboards or wireless cards
with them and that I would be glad to pick them up from their hotel or
NAIS central ... most NAIS administrators are used to wearing multiple
hats and so they probably would be glad to carry a few extra things to
help support a good cause ;-)
thanks in advance for reading and possibly helping us ... Steve
p.s. in particular, we need as many Mac mice and keyboards as we can get
for our next Tech Saturday giveaway on March 8th
