Re: Introduction and Question

Hi Karen,
Pam offered some great suggestions that have worked for us too.
Change happens slowly in our N-8 school so the transition that you
describe has been evolving over the last 4 years. We have moved from a
model of pull-out computer classes taught by two computer teachers once or
twice a week to integrating tech into the curriculum in more organic ways
K-8 with me as the academic tech director and two teachers who also serve
as tech collaborators - all of us working very much as tech coaches with
the faculty. It has involved a lot of team teaching and teacher workshops
but I knew we were in a good place when 3rd and 4th grade teachers just
this year volunteered to include the tech projects we do as part of their
curriculum in their overview of curriculum talks to parents. In the past
they have always asked me to present or at least be present to help with
questions. I would be happy to share my experiences if you would like to
talk off list by email dcusack@gordonschool.org or phone 401 434-3833.
Good luck!
