Re: Desktop monitoring software

Adrian,

Welcome to the group.

I'm not familiar with any free/shareware programs. =20

That said, what I think you are after is a tool that can provide
classroom management and could also provide instructional tools for your
students and teachers. If this is the case, I would recommend
synchroneyes by smart technologies. Also, see about applying for one of
their grants, as I understand everyone gets it and it cuts the cost
down. We purchased a site license and we love it. The teachers are
grateful for the classroom management piece but are pleasantly surprised
by the other features the software has to offer. =20

There are other packages from other companies, but this one works great.

Subject: Desktop monitoring software

Hi all,

I am new to this listserv and I am pleased to see so many pertinent
ideas
being thrown back and forth.

I have a question about Desktop Monitoring software.
Has anyone find any shareware or freeware that will allow you to lock
the
student workstations/laptops while you are giving a presentation?

We operate on a tight budget, therefore solutions like Altiris are a
little
bit prohibitive for us.

Thank you very much,
