A warranty certified technician in our area would get $18-25 per hour.
A tech with basic software certs would get $15-25 depending on
experience. I recommend speaking to a placement firm in your area to
get a better idea of the ranges for a Mac technician.

Subject: Tech Support Staff Pay
Hello all,
I am the tech coordinator at my school, and I oversee a support=20
person who works hourly. This person is responsible for=20
troubleshooting/repairing Mac computers, and she has a couple of=20
Apple certifications. She does not work on any of our Windows=20
machines, but that is less than 10% of the machines on campus. She=20
also maintains all of the computer labs on campus, helps teachers set=20
up A/V equipment, and pretty much helps out with all issues/tasks=20
involving technology.
My question is - do any of you have a person fulfilling a similar=20
role in your school, and if so, what do you pay this person per=20
hour? I am trying to get a gauge on whether or not we compensate=20
this woman fairly. Feel free to reply off-list.
Thanks so much!
-Martha
