Re: Got old milk? old keyboards? old laptops?

Hi Steve,

I've got keyboards - probably 30? and I've got ethernet cables - have
no idea how many? Do you need mice?

I don't have any laptops - but I have a few (fewer than 5) CPU's if you
want them - they all boot, but they don't have much in terms of RAM or
hard drive space.

I'm going to try to find someone in the school community that is
driving up there in the next week or so but if that fails I'll get it in
the post by next Friday.

How is school?

God Bless You,

Sister Elizabeth

Got old milk?
Got old keyboards?
Got old laptops that still boot up?
Got old laptops that do NOT boot up?
Got a pile of ethernet cables that you no longer need?
We at The Children's Storefront in Harlem will take any of the above
ite
ms (except milk) and put them to valuable and immediate use. Yesterday,
I
started all of my students in grades 2-8 on typing practice and told
them
that if they did not have a computer at home, they could borrow a
keyboard
from me and they could do their typing practice in the evening on the
keyb
oard. I said it would be hard work to concentrate on their finger
strokes
for 10-15 minutes when the keyboard was not attached to any computer,
but
that it would still be a viable way to
practice their typing.

In any case, I am appealing to any of you out there who might like to
dona
te old laptops or old keyboards to children in Harlem who could put
them t
o use immediately. Yes, old Macs and old PCs would also be appreciated
but
they are of course harder and more expensive to ship from afar.
