study time after school for our middle school students- much like a
latch-key program.
I received an email from a parent concerned with the Internet use of
these students. The director of the after school program did not
receive a copy of this email and is currently on maternity leave
until Tuesday. The parents concern was that her student was feeling
pressured to look at inappropriate sites.
To follow up on the parents concern, I researched their internet
histories and looked at their log files on ARD3. The use was
appalling for all students including the student mentioned above.
However, I cannot stay after school everyday to play "Net Nanny" with
remote desktop, with sites that slip through our filter, nor do I
want to give access to our filter to the staff member on duty.
My question is: Would you apply the consequences to the entire
program? Or the individual students? Also, has anyone else had this
issue?
Thank you for any insight you might be able to provide.
