Re: AV preferences

We moved from Sophos to Microsoft Forefront this year and have been very ha=
ppy with the price and performance. Microsoft has received solid reviews o=
n the VB100 bulletin.

I have used McAfee, Symantec, Panda, Sophos and Microsoft. Microsoft Foref=
ront and Sophos have been the best solutions I have used in the last ten ye=
ars.

Subject: AV preferences

I have received quotes for anti-virus solutions from several vendors. Befo=
re presenting this to my Head of School as a straight-forward financial cos=
t, I was curious if the ISED community had a preference between these produ=
cts: ESET, Vipre and AVG (business, not the free one). Specifically, I wa=
s wondering if anybody has real life experience with a product or company. =
Is the software 'light-weight' in terms of load on the system? Is the cen=
tral control interface useful and informative? Was the software balky and =
troublesome to install or maintain? I will need to uninstall Symantec Corp=
orate Edition 10 from the client computers, so if anybody has relevant tips=
on that...

Thank you. Please feel free to reply off-list.
