I see that you are a WhippleHill school - we just started with them here
this year. We use a combination of email and announcements on the faculty
portal. We post downloads on a faculty Community Page and the announcements
post there as well as push to their landing portal page announcements
channel. It has worked well. As we are also boarding so we have a res life
page for kids and another one for faculty. The res life faculty, again, get
the announcements to their faculty portal page and also on the res life page
that would include downloads for them. Does that make sense? It sounds
complicated, but seems to be working well. To keep the portal page less
cluttered, we keep the downloads on the community pages only. I hate that I
have to go 2 more clicks to get to them, but we may change that over time.
Still settling into all the nooks and crannies, I guess.
Our email system is FirstClass which offers opportunities for downloads,
etc. and we are working hard to wean everyone from that. We still use the
conferences that are a big part of FirstClass for internal discussions about
specific kids rather than have all that info out there in cyberspace. Call
me if you want to talk more about how we use the combination.
