enter for STEM Education for Girls. The responsibility of the director is=
to provide direction and momentum
for STEM education locally and nationally. The Director reports to the H=
ead of School and works closely with the Director of the Middle School, t=
he Director of the Upper School, the Science and Mathematics department c=
hairs, and the Director of Library
and Information Services.
Major duties and responsibilities:
=95 Collect research-based information and innovative best practices in=
STEM education for girls.
=95 Act as a clearinghouse of STEM information for educators, including=
Harpeth Hall faculty.
=95 Collaborate with established partners in Harpeth Hall's STEM initia=
tive, including Vanderbilt University Medical Center - Center for Science=
Outreach; Vanderbilt University School of Engineering; Vanderbilt Instr=
uction in Biomedical Engineering for
Secondary Sciences (VIBES); the Governor's Tennessee STEM Innovation =
Network, and BioTN Foundation.
=95 Initiate collaboration with local public and charter schools, other=
universities, research institutes, and corporations to foster continuing=
dialogue to benefit STEM education for girls.
=95 Serve as a resource to other schools, both private and public, to =
facilitate STEM strategic planning sessions at the department, school dis=
trict, or board level.
=95 Provide leadership for Center initiatives, including the STEM for G=
irls Think Tank, the proposed STEM for Girls Conference, and the proposed=
STEM Institute for Girls.
=95 Develop and monitor the budget for the Center for STEM Education fo=
r Girls.
=95 Document the success of the Center for STEM Education for Girls.
=95 Other duties as assigned.
