Re: Facilities Booking and Asset Management Software

We use Web help desk Hosted for our IT asset inventory and help desk. We
will soon incorporate facilities management since it will automatically
create tickets on a schedule (e.g., scheduling maintenance on all mechanica=
l
equipment in a school) and also allows an approval process. We authenticate
through LDAP but, as Stephanie pointed out, it doesn't readily handle
software inventory.

For room scheduling, we purchase Calcium Calendar from Brown Bear Software,
which requires PERL to run, but by incorporating calendars in calendars,
users can quickly see what conference room or computer lab has an opening
when they need it. We also use it for people to reserve projectors, laptops=
,
cameras etc in the library.
